2025 BMW 5 Series: Model Overviews

The BMW 5 series is an interesting intersection between sport and luxury in a midsize sedan. It’s larger than the BMW 3 series, offering some extra comfort, but isn’t as large as the BMW 7 series, which leans more luxury comfort than sporty style. It rolls and blends technology, performance, and comfort into one roomy yet agile machine. It’s an ideal ride through Miami, Aventura, and Coral Gables.

The BMW 5 series was redesigned for 2024, but 2025 didn’t see any major overhauls, though they did introduce the 550e trim (or model) to the lineup, which we will go over shortly. All in all, as far as luxury machines go, the 5 series sits as the Goldilocks in the BMW sedan series, and there are a few trims and models that are more attuned to power, tech, or performance for you to find the one that’s just right.

What Are the Different BMW 5 Series Models?

Test Drive a BMW 5 Series in Miami

Every BMW 5 Series model ups the ante in terms of power, precision, technology, and comfort. While it may seem overwhelming, any 5 Series can handle whatever job you throw at it, whether it’s your daily driver or your Sunday fun drive. Many of the elite luxury trimmings are optional or available on the entry models, but standard on the higher-end models, such as the BMW i5 M60 and BMW M5, so you’ll have plenty of power over customization to make your BMW entirely your own.

Handling, acceleration, and performance vary a bit between BMW 5 Series models, so it’s best to get behind the wheel of the one or two you have your heart set on to see which feels best in your hands and on the road.
