It has been just over a decade since BMW turned heads in the automotive world with the debut of the X6, the first SUV coupe. The all-new 2020 BMW X6, now in its third generation, is not only one of the most influential cars to roll out of a BMW factory, but also one of the few that created an entire class of its own.

For the past ten years, other manufacturers have tried unsuccessfully to match the appeal of the X6. Challengers like Audi, Mercedes, and Range Rover have attempted to offset the X6 with the Q8, GLE-Class, and Velar, respectively, but none have captivated consumers quite like the iconic BMW.

The X6 Legacy Continues

Soon after its release, the BMW X6 garnered a loyal fan base, propelling it to fame in car enthusiast circles. With over 400,000 units sold since 2009, the innovative X6 has carried on the legacy of its predecessors, while introducing upgraded features and design to impress loyal followers and attract new fans.

The redesigned 2020 X6 is no exception, mirroring some of the design features and performance of earlier generations, while introducing impressive new options to captivate consumers.

A Sleeker Exterior

The 2020 BMW X6 boasts a sleeker, bolder exterior that is longer and wider than its predecessors. A new bumper design and sharper angles contribute to a more aggressive look.

The iconic BMW grille received an upgrade with optional illumination as a part of the daytime running lights. The redesigned panoramic sunroof is a highlight of the new model with an impressive 83% increase in size over the previous model, along with an optional illuminated Sky Lounge glass roof.

Luxurious Interior

The X6 interior offers a few notable upgrades, including standard Vernasca Leather upholstery that sets the tone for luxury. The SensaTec dashboard and soft, ambient lighting add to the indulgent feel of the X6.

When it comes to technology, the X6 doesn’t disappoint. The revamped iDrive infotainment center features BMW’s largest center display and is operated by voice, touchscreen, or iDrive touchpad Controller. Safety has also advanced with Active Driving Assistant Technology, which offers a host of features such as frontal collision and lane departure warnings.

Additional features will impress even the most discriminating consumer. A state-of-the-art Bowers & Wilkins sound system, massaging seats, temperature-controlled cup holders, and night vision are among the most popular upgrades.

More Powerful Engines

The new X6 gets a substantial power boost over previous models. The sDrive40i and xDrive40i trims boast a potent, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 335 hp, together with 330 lb-ft of torque, and reaches 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. This is an improvement of 33 hp and 35 lb-ft of torque over previous models. The xDrive50i trim delivers a 4.4-liter turbo V8 engine with 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, cutting the 0-60 time to a blistering 4.1 seconds.

The new BMW X6 joins a prestigious ancestry of expertly crafted, high-performing vehicles, earning its own place as a star in the BMW lineup. To experience the new X6 today, contact Braman BMW, or stop by for a test drive at our Miami BMW dealership.
